Bueno, en primer lugar, necesit\u00e1bamos a alguien que nos ayudara a llevar nuestras maletas, mochilas, etc, definitivamente no; dormir en tiendas de campa\u00f1a. En segundo lugar, quer\u00edamos alguien que prepare todas las comidas y, obviamente, bebidas, \u00a1as\u00ed que, s\u00ed! <strong>El sendero de Pondo<\/strong> es as\u00ed, llevas una mochila peque\u00f1a con lo que necesites durante el d\u00eda, b\u00e1sicamente una botella de agua, una sudadera de manga larga o una chaqueta por si acaso, preferiblemente una chaqueta impermeable, bocadillos y protector solar, eso es lo que yo ten\u00eda en mi mochila.<\/p>\n<p>La forma en que funciona el sendero, comienzas desde Mtentu, a las afueras de <strong>Port Edward<\/strong>, esto puede ser, por carretera, un par de horas en un camino no muy plano, o en barco, si las condiciones del mar son buenas, ahora, para llegar all\u00ed vuelas a <strong>Durban<\/strong>, pasamos la noche all\u00ed y luego nos encontramos con todos en el aeropuerto para comenzar, uno de los que hac\u00edan el sendero no quer\u00eda ir en coche, as\u00ed que se fue en helic\u00f3ptero y como cobran por un m\u00ednimo de 2 personas, Jan tuvo que ir con \u00e9l. Nos juntamos en el borde de la desembocadura del r\u00edo <em>Mtentu<\/em> y la aventura comenz\u00f3 con nosotros cruzando el r\u00edo. Ser\u00eda genial si pudi\u00e9ramos caminar al lado de las salpicaduras, bueno, \u00bfsabes qu\u00e9? And honestly, they all started to sound the same \u2014 generic itineraries, generic recommendations, nothing that felt like it was actually built for us. Then we spoke to German, and it was a completely different conversation from minute one.\n\nHe didn't just pitch us a trip. He took the time to actually walk us through the differences between East and Southern Africa, explain what each region offers, which countries make sense for what kind of traveler, what activities are worth it and which ones aren't. He knew the details \u2014 not from a brochure, but like someone who had actually been there, lived it, understood it. It felt like talking to a local, not an agent. And that's exactly why we decided to go with him.\n\nWe were not disappointed.\n\nWe ended up with 22 days across Southern Africa \u2014 Cape Town, the Namibian desert, Sossusvlei, the Okavango Delta, Chobe River Front, Victoria Falls, Stellenbosch \u2014 and every single piece of it was completely bespoke. Nothing felt rushed, every transfer was on time, and every lodge already knew it was our honeymoon when we arrived. That kind of coordination doesn't happen by accident.\n\nWhat got me the most was Sossusvlei. Watching the sunrise hit those dunes from Wilderness Kulala Desert Lodge \u2014 I genuinely teared up. And then the safaris in the Okavango and Chobe were just on another level. Lions, elephants, leopards, hippos... in the wild, close, real. The A&amp;K lodges (Stanley's Camp, Chobe Chilwero, Sussi &amp; Chuma) were absolutely stunning \u2014 the kind of luxury that doesn't feel overdone because nature is doing most of the work anyway.\n\nOh, and swimming at Livingstone Island at the edge of Victoria Falls and then taking a helicopter over it an hour later? We had an absolutely incredible adventure and that was in large part due to German's guidance, assistance and knowledge. Even as an avid traveler, we really trusted German and followed his lead. While we had confusion regarding visas &amp; vaccinations ahead of the trip, all we needed to focus once in Africa was enjoying the excursions, meals, hotels and safari! Admittedly, at times we were uncertain of a few details regarding getting from point A to point B or for a particular excursion- but we just went with it and nothing disappointed. What was particularly helpful were the transfers - especially crossing the borders. Having a company lead us through that and take care of us...was worth using Nanan alone! Each place we stayed as well as each location we visited was TOP NOTCH. There was nothing that disappointed and German is very reachable. He knows his stuff. I would absolutely recommend German and I hope we travel back to Africa soon to be able to use Nanan again, myself!
