Another great attraction is the Gocta Falls, a 700 meter high waterfall, which is reached by trekking from Cocachimba.
Madre de Dios
The Manu National Park is one of the great attractions in the Madre de Dios province of Peru. There are 2 million hectares on the western edge of the Amazon basin, with a great wealth that has earned it the status of a Biosphere Reserve granted by UNESCO. For its part, the Tambopata National Reserve is south of the Madre de Dios River and is a protected area to conserve the beautiful flora, fauna and the ecological process of the tropical rainforest.
San Martin
The Blue Lagoon or Laguna el Sauce is one of the jewels of the Peruvian jungle, in the San Martín region. It is so called because it is in the town of El Sauce and is an ideal place to walk, watch birds or practice sport fishing. Very close to Tarapoto are the Ahuashiyacu Falls, two waterfalls of 30 and 40 meters high, which are quite accessible by walking for at least 25 minutes and that is why it is one of the most visited places in the region.
